DHL Casa Club

Overview

DHL Casa Club is located on the “lengüeta” of Puntarenas, the narrow urban strip between the Gulf and the Pacific. The tight lot is resolved with a compact three level volume that frees the visual foreground toward the sea and clearly organizes the lodging, leisure and recreation areas.

The program includes nine rooms, a pool, parking, terraces and a multipurpose hall. The upper level is devoted to contemplation and the open hall on the middle level works as a social lookout over the coastal landscape. Facades of metal slats filter light and sea breeze, reduce heat gain and define the character of the building.

The coastal condition guides every spatial decision in the project.
